Becoming a Missionary

My beloved brethren, you and I, today and always, are to bless all peoples in all the nations of the earth. You and I, today and always, are to bear witness of Jesus Christ and declare the message of the Restoration. You and I, today and always, are to invite all to receive the ordinances of salvation. Proclaiming the gospel is not a part-time priesthood obligation. It is not simply an activity in which we engage for a limited time or an assignment we must complete as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rather, missionary work is a manifestation of our spiritual identity and heritage. We were foreordained in the premortal existence and born into mortality to fulfill the covenant and promise God made to Abraham. We are here upon the earth at this time to magnify the priesthood and to preach the gospel. That is who we are, and that is why we are here--today and always.

Expired Temple Recommend

10/9

This week was pretty busy. First we went to the temple and guess what? My recommend was expired by one day. It was 2 years ago September that I went through the temple. So, instead of doing a session like I had planned, we went to breakfast instead.  Then we attended an institute class at the stake center that is right next to the temple in Redlands :)

Then the next day we had interviews with the mission President and he renewed my recommend a day late.  LOL  Oh well! I’m planning on attending the temple weekly when I come home!

Then we had meetings and Conference the next few days so we didn’t get a ton of proselyting done this week, but we did pick up a former investigator as a new one.  So, we currently have two investigators that are progressing at a very slow rate!

You must tell Grandpa and Grandma that I have officially given away the entire BOX of Book of Mormons that they had given me when I was in Murrieta.

FYI: Transfers are this week so hold off on the mail unless you send it to the mission office.

I think that’s about all for this week I do have some pictures that I am going to include.  Hope you enjoy them!

Love Elder McNew
