Becoming a Missionary

My beloved brethren, you and I, today and always, are to bless all peoples in all the nations of the earth. You and I, today and always, are to bear witness of Jesus Christ and declare the message of the Restoration. You and I, today and always, are to invite all to receive the ordinances of salvation. Proclaiming the gospel is not a part-time priesthood obligation. It is not simply an activity in which we engage for a limited time or an assignment we must complete as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rather, missionary work is a manifestation of our spiritual identity and heritage. We were foreordained in the premortal existence and born into mortality to fulfill the covenant and promise God made to Abraham. We are here upon the earth at this time to magnify the priesthood and to preach the gospel. That is who we are, and that is why we are here--today and always.

4th of July

07/09

Hey what’s up y'all! I am doing great this week!

It was kind of crazy since we had the 4th of July. We also had our temple trip and a District meeting and exchanges :) lol So this week was full of variety and it was so busy. It’s good to be busy though it’s nice to feel like you are actually progressing. Some weeks just seem like a drag others seem like there is not enough time to accomplish everything.

As for our numbers and lessons this week it wasn’t too bad, but this coming week will be much better I can really tell. We have appointments for like every single night this week and we have appointments that want to schedule that we have to push back to next week because we already have so much stuff :) but I love it when it’s like this.

4th of July wasn’t as awesome as I would have liked, it’s nothing like Utah. Our home share (The Massey Family) had some other family over and we had a little fire pit and roasted some marshmallows and then we (Elder and Kava and I) watched a church movie in our room with our mini DVD player.  It was good though. I saw a few little fireworks at our dinner like smoke bombs and ground bloomers and then some sparklers, the lame paper ones. And then I saw like 3 big fireworks from our balcony clear over in Redlands or something lol but it was good none the less. Anyway so I am doing great and this coming week should be awesome as well! :)

PS: Miguel is still missing... please pray for our investigators Lauren and Miguel and Cheyenne and their families :)

 Love you, love Elder McNew
